Mr. Feece has over 15 years of experience in the patent law field. Prior to joining Nwamu, P.C., Mr. Feece worked for Zilka-Kotab and IBM’s Patent Law Department, working in the Disk Drive Division, which was later sold to Hitachi and renamed Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. At IBM and Hitachi, Mr. Feece managed an extensive patent prosecution docket including technologies such as data storage systems, magnetic read and write heads, channel integration, predictive failure analysis, and error correction control. Mr. Feece also provided legal guidance and management over patent and technology licensing matters, and conducted validity and infringement analyses. While working at IBM as the lead patent attorney in licensing negotiations with a large magnetic head manufacturer, Mr. Feece secured over $6,000,000 in patent license revenue, proving invalidity and non-infringement of every patent asserted against IBM.
Prior to working at IBM, Mr. Feece worked in the Patent Department at McDonnell Douglas Aerospace and then for the law firm of Hickman, Stephens, Coleman & Hughes, where he handled patent prosecution and opinion work in technologies including data storage systems, software and business methods.
Mr. Feece earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Sacramento, and his J.D. from Whittier Law School, Los Angeles. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of California. He is also a member of the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Lawyers Association (SVIPLA), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and San Francisco Bay Area Intellectual Property American Inn of Court.
